The Serena Wines which are 5 in number are as follows: Serena Merlot Serena Chardonnay Serena Orange made wine Serena Raisin Wine Serena Strawberry Wine The Merlot and Chardonnay are made from special selected Gozo Grapes known by the name of Gelewza. These are local grown grapes found only in the Maltese Island. Brewed without sugar and both wines are dry. Made in our wine cellar at the Hotel Serena. The Serena Orange made wine is made from Gozo Grown Blood oranges. Sugar is added to reduce the acidity and render it mellow deep red wine. The Serena Raisin wine made from sun dry Gelewza Gozo Grapes. The Gelewza Grape is a tiny fruit full of juice and it is specially grown for wines only. When sun dried it become a raisin the production of this wine does not require any sugar and the wine is mellow for the fruit itself. This wine is white and thick with beautiful aroma of thyme. The Serena Strawberry Wine made from local grown strawberries which are grown abundantly. Sweet mellow wine pink in colour. Very popular with Maltese ladies. The Serena home made wines which two of them are traditionally know since the knights of Malta which are the Orange Wine and the Raisin Wine. The Serena Merlot and Chardonnay are the pride of our wine production known through the Maltese Island for their fruity aroma tinge colour and most of all the taste of our island Gozo which bland with the land and sea.
